About Seattle
Outdoorsy Seattle defined '90s culture with grunge music, slacker chic, and double lattes. While the dot-com boom built a modern skyline to complement the Space Needle, some things never change--like lunch at Pike Place Market or the stunning surrounding terrain, ideal for skiing, boating, or hiking.
Seattle is a gorgeous city. It offers a visitor numerous eateries to dine at and various attractions. As a result of this, I had to decide which ones my travel companions and I would enjoy the most. After a lot of prior trip planning, I selected the following intinary: dine at various restaurants, enjoy some nightlife in Seattle, tour Pike Place Market, go to the Space Needle, view Snoqualmie Falls, and sightsee Mount Rainier National Park.
Our dining selections varied. It was café/deli-type to elegant waterfront and everything in between. Of these, it was Elliot's Oyster House that I liked the most. In 2004, out of the top ten best seafood restaurants in America, this place was ranked fifth .
And I can see why since the food is superb, the ambience is wonderful (with a romantic setting on the waterfront) and the waiters are attentive, kind and helpful with the menu selections. Yes, this place is a little costly, but as the old adage goes, "You get what you pay for". Space Needle is a great architectural wonder. When it was first built in 1962, it was the tallest building west of the Mississippi. This observatory tower overlooks Seattle, the Puget Sound, mountains, etc. This is a wonderful landmark for everyone.
